Each of my cats has their favorite style of toy. One of them goes crazy for paper products like cardboard boxes and crumpled newspaper, while the other prefers to play with anything resembling a stick, like pencils or pens. So if your cat doesn’t seem interested in one toy, just give another a try. So how does one celebrate Opposable Thumbs Day? Roy recommends, “Get on your knees and give thanks that your pet doesn’t have thumbs!” I am so sad…what a great cat. I was doing cat visits myself when I first met him I use to carry him around like a baby patting him on the back…all 20 some pounds of him. He loved it! Catnip is a mystery to many people, but it’s actually a very common perennial herb that belongs to the mint family labiatae. Though catnip is native to Europe and Asia, it’s become naturalized in the U.S. and Canada and is now so widespread as to be considered a weed in parts of North America. The type of catnip that most cats like goes by the scientific name Nepeta cataria, but more than 250 other varieties of the herb exist. We are delighted to care for Theo, wonderful cat!
