We are happy to care for Virgil, a wonderful mature guy. Very sweet! Share and Enjoy: We were all lucky to have his smiling face in our lives. Here is a favorite photo from a happy beach day.~Michele Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that companion goes to Rainbow Bridge. “Find new ways to connect with your dog,” Haug urges. “Teaching a trick is not only good for the dog’s brain, but it’s a fun, low-pressure way to do something that doesn’t require a lot of physical strength. The trick doesn’t need to be a back flip. They can bow, cover their eyes with their paws, flick their ears… “Grooming is another way to connect; so is hanging out on the porch or at the park.” Many people don’t understand the emotion surrounding a pet’s death. Our friends mean well when they tell us to go out and get another dog or cat. But we know it’s not that simple. We have to grieve the part of us that’s gone. Many clients have told me that they grieved more over the loss of their pet then over a human relative’s death. They talk about the guilt they feel from these emotions. From a spiritual perspective, those humans were loved, but they weren’t part of them. They weren’t on this earth to walk life’s journey with them. Their animals were. Just Lulu |
